- I'm a husband, father, leader, and follower.
- And I'm a semi-reluctant dog owner (if you've ever met a Flatcoated Retriever, you'll get where I'm coming from).
- I'm also a total technology geek (if it's new and has a screen, I probably 'need' it, and I can definitely justify it :-) ).
- I've also become a bit of a Freeletics addict.
- And, of course, I am a coffee lover (some might even say coffee snob).
Like you, I'm a disrupter, an innovator, an initiator, an entrepreneur, a pioneer.
And, if we ever wound up in a flat share together, chances are that you’d discover that…

- And I can rustle up a pretty mean curry, as well as a sandwich that will blow your mind (and your waistline).

There is no greater buzz for me than that light bulb moment.
The moment when someone I’m coaching realises that they don't have to live as an interpretation of who they are.
And not just that, but they can see how to make that break and allow the real version of themselves to take centre stage.
But it wasn't always like that for me.
Creative at heart, I dreamed of becoming an author, perhaps a journalist (or maybe even an actor).
But, all of that went out of the window when, in the final year of my Psychology and Philosophy degree at Durham University, I decided that...
Accountancy was the perfect career choice for me.
I know, go figure.
Looking back, though, I know exactly why I chose that path....
Money. Status. Stability
- All things I didn't care about, but thought that I should.
- All things I didn't want, but other people wanted for me.
And back then, I didn’t know how to rock the boat.
So, I played along for the best part of 10 increasingly miserable years, until I couldn't anymore.
And the wheels flew off. Big time.
Lying in bed in April 2000, I couldn't move. Literally.
Somehow, during the night, a truck, or maybe a tank, had driven over me while I slept. My brain was fried and my body ached.
And there began the race to my lowest point...
Which was my ‘cheese sandwich incident’. I'll tell you more about that someday, but suffice to say for now, the only way from that moment was up - I had no further to fall.
But here's the funny thing with lowest points…
They can be the catalyst for the end of everything. Or, they can be the catalyst for a new beginning.
I chose to make my lowest point the latter.
And, what followed was a two-year adventure into discovering how to bring the version of me that had been so desperately trying to be seen all these years out of the shadows and into the spotlight.
An adventure that has become a life-long quest.
No-one told me I was heading for a cliff edge, they just told me to dig in and carry on. No-one told me I could live my life on my terms, or disrupt the status quo. No one told me to be me. And there was no ‘Fit For Purpose’ course I could take.
So I created it.
